Melbourne-based property development firm Landream has revealed plans for a $900m residential project on a former depot site, in the inner-Sydney suburb of Pyrmont.
Located at 14-26 Wattle Street, Pyrmont Place will comprise four towers and deliver 237 luxury apartments on the former City of Sydney Council depot.
The apartment mix includes one- to four-bedroom units as well as studio units.
Part of the development includes two-court indoor recreational centre with multi-function rooms and 91-place childcare centre which would be transferred to the City of Sydney.
Other amenities include work from home pods, outdoor swimming pool, gym, rooftop garden, retail spaces, lockers, and dog wash bay. It is adjacent to Wentworth Park Light Rail station.
Construction is expected to begin in mid-2025, with completion targeted for 2028.
“Pyrmont Place embodies our vision for creating transformative urban spaces that honour the past while embracing the future,” said Harvard Shen, director at Landream.
“This project isn’t just about delivering premium residences – it’s about crafting a vibrant community that will become the catalyst for Pyrmont’s evolution into one of Sydney’s most desirable waterfront neighbourhoods.”
Landream acquired the site from the City of Sydney Council for $200m in 2018.
The first-stage concept design approval was obtained in May 2021, followed by second-stage development approval in April 2024.
Sydney-based architecture firm BVN won the project’s design competition
The site is near the Sydney Fish Market development in the Blackwattle Bay Precinct where the NSW Minns government changed land-use controls to prioritise more housing over commercial last year.
