A PRESTIGE harbour side home in Sydney's eastern suburb of Vaucluse has sold prior to auction for $8.8 million, $1.8 million more than expected.
Laing+Simmons Double Bay Principal D’Leanne Lewis said the six bedroom, six bathroom, three storey home located at 46 Wentworth Rd Vaucluse, represented a rare opportunity in the local market and was snapped up by a Sydney family.
“The impressive result for the luxurious property reinforces the underlying strength of the eastern suburbs market.
“The pristine harbourside home occupies an elevated position opposite heritage listed Strickland House with uninterrupted views of Sydney’s CBD, Opera House and Harbour Bridge,” she added.
Lewis said from day one, the property drew significant interest.
In all, Lewis handed out six contracts to families who had shown interest in the property.
“There was no doubt this property was going to sell, however a result that so far surpassed expectations was achieved prior to auction demonstrates the exclusivity and demand for properties in this world-class location,” she concluded.
