A QUARRY at Mt Marlow in North Queensland’s Whitsunday region has sold for $600,000.
The property at 824 Shute Harbour Rd Mt Marlow was sold to a regional transport company.
Ray White Commercial Townsville’s Eliza Taylor and Adrian Pascoe handled the transaction on behalf of receivers and managers.
Taylor said the 3.49ha site was not sold as a going concern but included a weighbridge office and workshop.
“We had good interest in this site with a number of offers made from regionally based purchasers,” she said.
Pascoe said the site benefits from a Development Approval and has operated as a quarry distributing several types of product including hard rock, fill and waste material.
“The site is approximately 10km north-east of Proserpine and a number of rural properties and farms are scattered in the local vicinity. The resources within the current quarry area extend to approximately 340,000 tonnes.
“There’s an estimation of future commencing output of 40,000 tonnes per annum rising to 50,000 tonnes per annum in future years,” he said.
