THE future is here! A Casuarina beachfront mansion aptly named “The Jetsons” is aiming to be in the history books as the world’s first live international property auction using cryptocurrencies, accepting Bitcoin and Binance Coin as payment.
LJ Hooker’s Nick Witheriff and Carol Witheriff are marketing the property at 1 Beech Lane Casuarina, which will be sold via an onsite auction conducted by James Pratt Auctions & Advisory services provided by NuYen Blockchain on Monday April 8th, 11am AEST 2019.
Located 15 minutes from Gold Coast airport and 30 minutes from Byron Bay, the master-built dual-storey design spanning 412 sqm residence includes a 25m heated lap pool with an adjustable Olympic-grade starting block and black-tiled lane markings, set on a 841 sqm beachfront block.
All four secondary bedrooms feature built-in wardrobes and private access to two contemporary bathrooms, whilst the master suite has a dressing room, deluxe ensuite with twin vanities and a double shower.
The auction is another step forward for borderless cryptocurrencies in property transactions, after a four-bedroom house in Melbourne’s eastern suburb of The Basin became one of the first properties in the world to change hands via bitcoin, in November 2017.
Meanwhile in October last year, Blockchain was used for the first time in a real estate sale in the European Union, with a Spanish seller and French buyer both using cryptocurrency to transfer property ownership using a transaction platform pioneered by Silicon Valley-based Propy.
Propy CEO Natalia Karayaneva said blockchain technology continues to revolutionize the way people buy and sell properties across borders.
“Until now, real estate investment has been a tedious process. Purchasing property across borders involves buyers and sellers from different tax and regulatory jurisdictions.” Karayaneva said.
