FRASERS Property Australia has secured Anaconda, McDonald’s and Officeworks as the major tenants for stage two of its new large format retail precinct, Eastern Creek Quarter.
The 11,300sqm stage two of the Frasers’s development in Western Sydney, will boast up to 20 stores, ranging from 200sqm to 2,000sqm.
Outdoor adventure and sporting goods retailer, Anaconda, has signed onto a 1,900sqm tenancy, while a full-line Officeworks will account for 1,700sqm.
The McDonald’s will be a restaurant and drive-thru outlet, integrated to with the ECQ but on a separate site, subject to council approval.
The Eastern Creek Quarter will also deliver 340 on-grade parking spaces.
“We’re pleased to be welcoming Anaconda, Officeworks and McDonald’s to Eastern Creek Quarter soon. These well-known, market-leading brands provide a glimpse of what’s planned for the new large format retail and showroom precinct,” said Tim Moore, general manager retail leasing for Frasers Property Australia.
“To complement these fantastic retailers, we are on the lookout for homewares, electrical goods, automotive, recreational, outdoor, pet and baby goods operators. There are also potential opportunities for indoor children’s recreation centres and swim schools,” added Moore.
Leasing specialist Retail Projex has been appointed to manage the leasing campaign for the development.
“The new precinct is a prime opportunity for large format retailers and showrooms who want to be part of a centre which has set a new benchmark in entertainment, dining, sustainability and convenience for western Sydney,” said Moore.
The site will also target a 5 Star Green Star Design & As Built rating, with intentions to use a 400kW solar system to generate energy for the precinct. In line with the group’s environmental ethos, after topping the Global Real Estate Sustainability Benchmark rating for 2020.
“Eastern Creek Quarter already stands alone in the western Sydney retail landscape for its dining choices and entertainment focus. These points of difference will be complemented by the new large format precinct coming soon.”
The new precinct will provide services to a large catchment, sitting within a 15-minute drive for 33,000 people and a 30-minute drive for 1.2 million people.
The trade area for ECQ is predicted to spend $23.6 billion in 2036, up from the approximate $13.1 billion spent in 2019, according to LocationIQ.
The demographic of the catchment area also consists of younger and larger families that the national average, with household income also above the national benchmark of around $98,500 by about 20%.
“The location benefits from convenient accessibility and very high exposure, with 11.2 million vehicles travelling along the Great Western Highway annually, and the population in the main trade area is undergoing significant growth.”
Eastern Creek Quarter retail and showroom precinct is expected to be open by early 2022.
