AXIOM Properties and construction technology company PARKD have joined forces to jointly develop car parks using innovative prefabricated modular system that will build facilities faster than traditional concrete structures.
PARKD has created a multi-storey carpark structure called PARKD Car Park System. With only three primary elements, which are prefab off-site, the system can offer faster build times and reduced costs compared to traditional methods.
Axiom managing director Ben Laurance said the company sees opportunities in commuter numbers returning to higher levels post-COVID-19, which will likely result in additional capacity requirements in both permanent and temporary car parking.
He added that the joint venture is also well positioned with several enquiries in the health and university sectors to resolve carparking challenges.
PARKD chairman Bronte Howson said the partnership presents an opportunity to provide alternate funding solution to traditional capital expenditure.
Howson said the projects would be a game changer and will provide impetus for PARKD to realise opportunities that are currently impeded by lack of available funding.
