JEFF Xu’s Golden Age Group has been given approval to go ahead on its Wembley Hill residential project in Melbourne’s east.
Located at on a site in excess of 50,000sqm at 15 Hay Street in Box Hill South, around 14km east of the CBD, Wembley Hill is being developed in collaboration with internationally acclaimed Cox Architecture.
Golden Age has developed a residential masterplan for the site that comprises 143 townhouses, with over 13,000sqm of the site earmarked for green open space and landscape architecture by TCL.
The townhouses will range from three-bedroom to four-bedroom formats with interiors by MIM design.
“We will deliver an array of residential amenities, complemented by gardens and playgrounds in a secure neighbourhood that is ideal for raising families,” said Jeff Xu, founder at Golden Age.
“It will be a highly connected site, where residents can enjoy generous walking paths along the Gardiner Creek Trail.”
The project is one of the most significant developments in the fast-growing suburb and is positioned next to Wembley Park, Box Hill Soccer Club, Box Hill Golf Club and the Gardiners Creek Trail.
“We have spent considerable time researching and understanding what the Box Hill community needs and wants and we appreciate the economic diversity of Melbourne’s east, which is why this project will not only provide beautifully designed townhomes but will provide a space for the community celebrating intergenerational living,” added Xu.
Wembley Hill will boast a range of energy-saving design initiatives such as energy-efficient heating and cooling, filtered rainwater connection to irrigation and utilities, rooftop solar panels and the provision for fast EV charging.
With a minimum 6-star building fabric, low volatility organic compounds within interior wall paint, double glazed windows to ESD specifications, energy efficient LED downlights throughout, 4-star WELS shower heads and 5-star WELS tapware in bathrooms.
In July, Golden Age established itself as Box Hill’s largest private landowner, acquiring a Carrington Road property that gives it five sites spanning 60,000 sqm.
