MIRVAC has unveiled plans for the latest apartment building within its $1 billion Waterfront Newstead community in Brisbane, after receiving development approval from Brisbane City Council.
Located two kilometres from the Brisbane CBD, Isle Waterfront Newstead will feature 135 residences across 25 levels, including one, two and three-bedroom apartments, three and four-bedroom pavilions and four-bedroom penthouses spanning half a level.
Mirvac’s head of residential, Stuart Penklis, said there is a rise in demand for premium, well-located, larger and higher specification apartments from owner occupiers.
The unveiling comes as all 136 apartments in the previous stage of Waterfront Newstead, Sky, officially sold out. All apartments of the 25-level Quay building were snapped up off-the-plan within seven months of release for a total of $197 million. Construction is underway and completion due for early 2024.
Mirvac said Isle is “leading a trend in biophilic architecture, centred on bringing nature into the built environment, and Brisbane’s ongoing move towards ‘Buildings that Breathe’”.
It will front Waterfront Park and is steps from Gasworks Plaza.
“We’re seeing buyers looking for apartments with a sustainable design, where they can live feeling connected to nature and enjoy holistic health benefits,” Mirvac general manager residential Queensland, Warwick Bible said.
“The building optimises the indoor-outdoor lifestyle, with floor-to-ceiling glass sliders inviting cooling river breezes, expansive sculptured and planted balconies offering shade and an orientation ideal for cross ventilation, with spectacular northern aspects to Brisbane River and Waterfront Park,” he said.
“The exterior is designed as an ‘urban forest’ to blend with the natural environment, with its organic curves draped in greenery acting as an extension to neighbouring Waterfront Park and its ground-floor retail integrated with lush, planted enclaves and water features.”
Isle will feature an infinity edge lap pool on the rooftop, infrared and magnesium spas, a fully equipped dining room and sunset cocktail bar overlooking the park and Brisbane River, there will be a gym, a business lounge and a concierge service.
Registrations of interest are now being taken. Mirvac is anticipating bringing Isle to market as soon as possible.
