DAUGHTER of Rupert Murdoch, Prudence MacLeod and husband Alasdair have finally sold their Woollahra house, after failing to find a buyer three years ago.
The sale price came in at around $17.5 million for the 133 Queen Street property which comprises two separate free-standing residence on a 960sqm site with 15.65 metres of frontage.
This surpassed the $15 million expectations from when it last hit the market in February 2019, with Ben Collier from The Agency managing the campaign, before the house was withdrawn and reportedly listed for rent at $15k a week in April 2022.
Craig Carracher, co-founder of the Scape Australia and president of Volleyball Australia, was the purchaser after renting the home from the MacLeods.
Prudence and Alasdair Macleod purchased the house back in 2014 for $10.65 million, adding the home to their Australian portfolio of country estates.
The Espie Dods-designed residence was originally commissioned by radio broadcaster, John Laws.
Laws purchased the property in 1981 for $264,000, before selling the property in 2004 for $7.7 million to mining magnate Nick Curtis.
The main house comprises two-storeys, with four bedrooms and five bathrooms, with two further bedrooms in the second house.
The property also includes a swimming pool, triple and double garages and north-facing landscaped courtyard.
