QUEST Apartment Hotels continues work on its plan to establish itself in undersupplied metropolitan locations, securing lease terms for the pacific Epping Shopping Centre in Melbourne’s north-east growth corridor.
The new apartment complex will front Cooper Street comprise 6,500sqm with 96 rooms and is positioned to gain from the surrounding retail and dining precinct, including an additional 1,300sqm of new restaurants.
It is located adjacent to the Northern Hospital, and close to the new opened Epping wholesale fruit and vegetable market.
“Quest’s commitment to a new apartment hotel in Epping continues to demonstrate our enduring focus on providing premium accommodation for business travellers where ever they need to be – whether it is outer suburban, inner city or regional locations,” Quest Apartment Hotels chief executive officer Zed Sanjana said.
CBRE’s Scott Callow negotiated the lease for the development on behalf of the Pacific Group, saying the deal highlighted confidence in Melbourne’s hotel market.
“The ongoing strength of the Melbourne hotel market in the CBD and city fringe is flowing into certain key growth corridors, of which Epping and Melbourne’s north are prime examples,” Callow said.
Quest will be opening in seven new locations over the coming 24 months, including Newcastle West in New South Wales; Eight Mile Plains and Springfield in Queensland; Midland and Innaloo in Western Australia; and Traralgon and 478 St Kilda Road in Victoria.
