TARGET Australia will be moving its national headquarters to a purpose-built $37 million-plus building within Cedar Woods’ Williams Landing masterplanned community in western Melbourne.
The Wesfarmers-owned department store chain has signed a 10-year lease over an eight-level office building comprising 10 levels.
The building will be constructed by Hacer Group, with works beginning next month and completion expected by the end of 2018.
Williams Landing is positioned around 20 kilometres from Melbourne in the western suburbs growth corridor, and has been designated as a Priority Development Zone by the Victorian government.
Target will be relocating from Thompson Road in North Geelong.
“Target’s move to Williams Landing signifies the increasing breadth and depth of economic activity occurring in Melbourne’s western growth corridor and reinforces Williams Landing’s appeal as an attractive and growing commercial centre,” Cedar Woods chief operating officer Nathan Blackburne said.
“We anticipate Target’s move will stimulate interest from other leading businesses seeking to base themselves at Williams Landing,” he added.
MacroPlan Dimasi analysis is shows that Williams Landing has the potential to accommodate more than 13,000 jobs by 2031.
