MEDIA company, Nine Entertainment, has signed a deal with the Winten Property Group to move to a new office building in North Sydney.
Nine announced that the new building at 1 Denison St will house the Nine studios for Sydney and all staff from the Willoughby and Sydney CBD office sites.
As a result, Nine will stop broadcasting from Willoughby, where the media group has been for over 60 years.
Nine will occupy nine floors comprising 15,500 sqm for a minimum term of 12 years.
Winten will construct the new office tower, which is scheduled to be completed in early 2020.
Winten development director Stuart Vaughan said the long term lease to Nine, together with the new Metro station and North Sydney Council’s proposed road/pedestrian network upgrade, will entrench 1 Denison as a vibrant new hub for North Sydney and help spur the ongoing revitalisation of the North Sydney office market.
On completion, the 39-storey, 1 Denison St tower will be the tallest skyscraper in North Sydney. It will comprise 60,000 sqm of office space and two levels retail.
CBRE represented Winten in the lease negotiations, which follow last year’s sale of the Channel Nine studios in Willoughby for $147,500,000.
“We are confident of attracting like-minded tenants to a fantastic new office development boasting large side core floor plates, state of the art services and great amenity.” Regional director Mark Lacey said.
