DEVELOPER Made Property is developing an absolute waterfront luxury residential development on Mortlake Point’s last remaining foreshore position, in Corsa Mortlake.
The SJB-designed Corsa Mortlake on Majors Bay in Sydney Harbour, located in the inner-west waterside suburb of Mortlake, will comprise 20 three-bedroom super-sized residences.
“The design for Corsa Mortlake creates a harmonious fusion of architecture, interior design, landscape and sustainability. Addressing the foreshore and gracefully descending towards the water, the building engages seamlessly with its environment,” said Adam Haddow, director at SJB.
In addition to storage, secure basement parking with spaces for two or three cars, the development will a 23-berth marina to accommodate boats from 12 to 20 metres in length.
Each floor of the development will be limited to five apartments and will include three lift lobbies, resulting in one or two apartments to each lobby.
“The passive design principles will yield both comfort and reduced energy consumption. Each apartment is cross ventilated, reducing the reliance on air conditioning and connecting the occupant to the harbour,” added Haddow.
“The orientation maximises solar access and natural daylight. Solar panels will further reduce consumption, a testament to our commitment to sustainable practices and reducing the building’s ecological footprint.”
As part of the development and the Canada Bay Council Foreshore Access Strategy, which aims to improve and increase access to the foreshore areas around Canada Bay, the boardwalk that fronts the project will be extended.
Corsa Mortlake, which received development approval back in July, is targeting local downsizers and empty nesters looking for a secure lifestyle investment with the added convenience of mooring their boat at their residential address.
