PLANS for Adelaide’s first skyscraper have been put on hold, with Chinese-backed developer JWDT Land instead deciding to lob the CBD site on the corner of Pulteney and Flinders streets to the market.
The Sydney-based company had plans for a 180-room building dubbed SA1 Tower that included 330 apartments, 160 hotel rooms, three restaurants, sky lounge and gym, which were approved a year ago by the State Commission Assessment Panel.
The building would soar 42 metres higher than Adelaide’s current tallest building, the Crowne Plaza on Frome Street.
But JWDT has now appointed CBRE to sell the 1,910 sqm site at 207-209 Pulteney Street, which has comprised a three-storey building and open-air car park.
Expressions of interest close on 19th October.
