ONLY Hospitality Group founder and former VFL player Julien Moussi has spent $3.8 million on the home of Rah Bar nightclub in South Yarra.
The 432sqm two-level hospitality venue on a 500sqm site at 163 Toorak Road, around 4km south-east of the Melbourne CBD, boasts direct access to a platform at South Yarra Train Station.
Paul Jones, Luke Peric and Sam Guest from Jones Real Estate managed the sale of the property via private auction and sold the site with vacant possession.
“The Old South Yarra Railway Station at 163 Toorak Road truly is a landmark property. The buyer intends on revitalising the property for it to again be used as a major meeting point for the people of Melbourne,” said Paul Jones, managing director at Jones Real Estate.
“Our team are extremely grateful for the opportunity to be involved in the transaction.”
The heritage red brick site was built as the original railway station’s first class lounge in 1862 and occupied by Rah Bar throughout the 2000s and 2010s.
Moussi’s portfolio now includes more than 25 cafes, bars, pubs and restaurants including Bentwood Fitzroy, My Other Brother in Camberwell, Hotel Collingwood, Pavilion in Geelong and Juliette Coffee and Bread in Malvern.
The property sits within the Toorak Road fine dining precinct and is surrounded by restaurants and cocktail bars, luxury retail brands, blue chip residential mansions, apartments, and hotels.
And boasts easy access with a tram stop at its door stop and the train station at the rear.
