A PERTH riverside mansion owned by mining heiress Angela Bennett has sold for a cool $57.5 million, setting a new Australian record.
The property was purchased by former federal Liberal MP Chris Ellison, who left politics and is reportedly worth around $300 million.
Ellison is the founder of Perth based mining company, Mineral Resources.
The sale eclipses the previous record set price of $45 million set by the sale of a Sydney waterfront property.
However, the mansion had an original asking price of $70 million.
The property was sold by Willie Porteous, the husband of another well known former Perth resident, Rose Lacson-Hancock-Porteous.
The Mosman Park estate mansion sits on an area of 7567 sqm and includes three self-contained buildings, private jetty, boathouse, gym cinema, pool and tennis court.
