FRASERS Property Australia has unveiled its $500 million master planned community in Keperra, in Brisbane’s north west, which will transform a quarry site into a mix of house and land sites and Rothelowman-designed terrace homes.
To be named simply The Quarry, at 170 metres above sea level the 48.7-hectare hillside precinct will become Brisbane’s most elevated community.
The Keperra Quarry, which mines granite, has operated for more than 60 years and will progressively curb operations as the development of the residential stages advance.
According to Scott Ullman, general manager Queensland development, more than 1,000 people attended The Quarry’s community celebrations earlier this month, and in the first week since The Quarry launched the company has received more than 450 enquiries and 150 walk-ins to the onsite sales centre for the first land release of 29 home sites.
Located 9.5 kilometres north-west of the Brisbane CBD, Keperra is an established suburb with pent-up demand for new housing supply due to its proximity to schools, healthcare, and major transport infrastructure.
Ullman said homes will be built on elevated platforms enabling views overlooking the D’Aguilar Range, Glasshouse Mountains, Moreton Bay and beyond.
Residents will have access to ClubQ, the $5 million Rothelowman-designed community recreation centre complete with an entertainer’s kitchen, dining room, event spaces, library and work zones, a 25-metre pool with sun deck, two resort-style walk-in pools with an integrated waterfall and kids’ splash and play area, and a private wellness centre featuring a fully equipped gymnasium and meditation room.
More than 40% of the community is dedicated to existing bushland and newly curated green space and resident amenities, Ullman said. The landscaping surrounding ClubQ will be woven throughout the site to deliver multiple green areas with outdoor barbecues and nature play spaces, alongside more than 100,000 plants and trees.
“Some of Brisbane’s most celebrated precincts have been transformed from industrial style uses into vibrant urban renewal precincts and The Quarry is one of those chapters in that renewal,” said Cameron Leggatt, executive general manager development of Frasers Property Australia.
“The site’s sculptural setting lends itself to dynamic architecture and landscaping, and we have partnered with an exceptional team of architects, place makers and landscape designers to bring our vision to life.”
Land prices at The Quarry start from $580,000.
