GPT Group has scored a leasing coup, signing Suncorp as the anchor tenant at 530 Collins St in Melbourne's CBD.
Suncorp has signed a 10-year lease for 15,500 sqm of space over 12 floors, starting on 1 July 2013 and includes signage rights for the building.
GPT’s head of asset management Matthew Faddy said Suncorp is the latest blue-chip company to join 530 Collins St since GPT started work on repositioning the building in late 2007 after law firm Allens Arthur Anderson moved out two months ago.
GPT’s director of office leasing, Luke Briscoe negotiated the deal directly. The commitment takes the building’s occupancy to 97.5%.
The building’s owner GPT Wholesale Office Fund, fund manager Martin Ritchie said this transaction is the result of the successful execution of a strategy that was set five years ago to refurbish and re-lease the building.
GPT has given the property a major makeover, lifting it to a 5.5 Star NABERs Energy rating (with Green Power) building.
