SWEDISH fast fashion giant H&M will unveil new store layouts at its new Townsville and Rockhampton locations.
Both are opening within the regional cities’ Stockland shopping centres on October 19th and November 2nd respectively (Townsville is 50% owned by AMP Capital), each with single-level configurations covering around 2,500 sqm.
Stockland Rockhampton will be the label’s first central Queensland store, and Stockland Townsville its first in the state’s north.
“It’s great to see this international fashion brand investing in regional Queensland and we’re proud to be able to support H&M as they move into this market,” Stockland’s group executive and chief executive officer commercial property, John Schroder said.
H&M entered Australia in 2014 and now has 22 stores open across the country, among its 4,500-plus in 68 markets worldwide.’
Stockland Rockhampton has seen Harris Scarfe, Universal Store and Emma & Roe open within the centre this year, as well as Mimco and Peter Alexander opening before Christmas.
Following the opening in July of the 250-seat the $6.6 million, 250-seat dining precinct “The Terrace”, Stockland lodged plans for a $45 million extension of the mall to form an “integrated Entertainment and Leisure Precinct”, which would see the expansion of the adjacent cinema complex, 11 new food and specialty retailers and 15 new car parking spaces taking the total to over 2,800.
It is looking to do something similar at Townsville.
“We’re responding to our customers’ feedback to ensure Stockland Rockhampton remains the retail destination of choice, offering a vibrant and inviting retail, entertainment and dining experience for our customers,” Schroder said.
