MULTIPLEX has been selected to deliver the Mosman High School upgrade project.
With the ECI contract, the global construction company will work with School Infrastructure NSW (SINSW) to plan and design major upgrades to the high school.
Mosman High School, on Sydney’s Lower North Shore, will receive an upgrade as a part of the NSW Government’s $7 billion investment which promises to deliver over 200 new and upgraded school across the State.
“Multiplex is thrilled to be part of this state significant development which will help to shape the future of education and learning in Mosman,” said David Ghannoum, regional managing director at Multiplex.
Mosman was selected for the upgrades as a result of its growing enrolments, with changes needing to allow for 1,200 students.
The works will include state-of-the-art educational facilities such as of 16 new classrooms, a multipurpose hall and gymnasium, updated library, as well as new administration and staff facilities and a new canteen. And a planned rooftop sports court.
“As part of our bid we put forward an opportunity to create more flexible learning spaces for Mosman High School, as well as greater connectivity to nature. We are looking forward to working with School Infrastructure NSW in the coming months to progress the design to be able to be delivered,” added Ghannoum.
Mutliplex has delivered several education projects in recent years, including the $187 million Science and Engineering Building and the $125 million Biological Sciences Building at Sydney’s UNSW, and large-scale student accommodation facilities at La Trobe University and Monash University in Melbourne.
The completed La Trobe University project, also market Victoria’s largest ever mass timber project. With Multiplex’s most recent appointments including the delivery of the Joondalup Health Campus and a $300 Cbus Property Office project in the Adelaide CBD.
Construction on main works is set to commence in early 2022.
