Newmark has brought Yashar Khalighi aboard in Vancouver as a senior managing director.
Khalighi focuses on sales of commercial properties and development land throughout British Columbia. He spent the last roughly six years at CBRE, leaving as a vice president. In 2023, he brokered the sale the Strawberry Hill Shopping Centre, British Columbia’s largest retail deal that year.
Reporting to Norm Taylor, president and country head for Canada, Khalighi is tasked with helping grow the firm’s capital markets business in Canada. He’ll focus on institutional and private capital investment in commercial real estate.
