PIKOS Group has received council approval to begin developing a $200 million apartment project on Kangaroo Point.
Brisbane City Council has granted approval to Pikos Group for the revised residential apartment project, on the Kangaroo Point cliffs, to be known as Skye Apartments.
The 2,330sqm site will be comprised of 68 apartments over three separate 13-storey towers, located on the corner of River Terrace and Main St and will overlook the CBD.
“This is a landmark site in Brisbane, so we took a purposeful approach to create an iconic development,” said Pedro Pikos, managing director of Pikos.
The towers will include amenities for both private residents and the public, including a gym and private sub-tropical garden and a café available to both residents and the public. The site will also include a four-level basement carpark with access to the public via Main St.
“We have delivered refinements that we believe creates a unique residential offering for the city by combining boutique premium apartment lifestyle with world-class amenities that you’d expect in a five-star resort,” said Pikos.
The development will be designed by Arkefield architecture firm and will feature a floating Sky Deck across two of the buildings featuring a bar and restaurant with general public access, as well as a private pool and terrace for residents with views of the Brisbane city skyline.
Guests from the public will access the Sky Deck via a standalone glass lift, with views of the city.
“The Sky Lounge is the jewel in the crown of this design that will set this development apart for residents and as a Brisbane destination in its own right,” said Pikos.
The towers will also include be six penthouses, each including a private rooftop terrace.
The group acquired the site from Singapore-based company, Banyan Tree who purchased the site back in 2014 for $16.8 million.
