PROPERTY legend Don Napier, one of the cofounders of Napier & Blakeley, has passed away.
Born in Scotland in 1929, Napier worked his way around the world and eventually called Australia home in the 1960s.
In the 1980s, he met up with Paul Blakeley, a partner with Crosher & James in London at the time, and they together formed Napier & Blakeley over 30 years ago.
The duo led the way in Australia and started the first Capital (Depreciation) Allowances Company in Australia, and over 30 years later Napier & Blakeley continue with this service.
In 1986, Napier opened the office in Sydney followed by Brisbane in 1987, and today their legacy continues with now over 120 staff around Australia and South East Asia.
Napier & Blakeley director Alastair Walker said Napier retired from Napier & Blakeley in 1996, but he continues to be fondly remembered today.
“It is with a great deal of sadness that we let the property market know about the passing of Don Napier, one of the co founders of Napier & Blakeley.
“Always cheerful with a steadfast support of his staff, he will be sadly missed,” Walker said.
A service for Don’s passing will be held on Friday 3rd at St Johns Anglican Church, Toorak in Melbourne.
