A Tamarama beachfront home has sold ahead of auction for $11 million, after the Sydney property was listed for the first time in 71 years.
Located at 23 Gaerloch Avenue in Tamarama, the double-storey home offers three double-sized bedrooms with built in robes, a sunroom, a study and 180-degree ocean views that can never be built out and direct access to the beach below.
William Manning from prestige property agency Highland Double Bay Malouf negotiated the deal before the property was due to go under the hammer on September 20.
“We received an exceptionally high level of interest for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to acquire arguably one of the best located homes in Tamarama,” said Manning.
“The offer that was accepted by the vendor prior to auction sets a new benchmark for the area and reflects the inherent value of this sought-after residential enclave.”
Sitting just 6km out from the Sydney CBD and 1km from the famous Bondi Beach, the residence sits in a row of only five houses and is conveniently placed minutes from shops, restaurants and cafes and within close proximity of numerous schools.
“The new buyer has secured a rare gem with this purchase. It’s ready to move into immediately or, as many potential buyers saw it, this home provides a blank canvas for future renovation that can further enhance their appreciation of this spectacular beachside location,” concluded Manning.
Earlier in the month, Highland Double Bay Malouf transacted more than $70 million worth of sales in a single week, following the merger venture of Bill and David Malouf with David Highland.
